Its DOTs and the chosen DOT

Circles, Dots, Circles, Dots, Circles thats the project for the day. Sketches circles in 30 thumbnails in our sketch book with each showing 10 proximity, 10 continuance, and 10 similarity. The dots/circles had to be precisely measured with a compass or a circle template to make them round and even. Then they had to be traced and filled with permanent marked. Once all of the 30 thumbnails were done, we later had to enlarge then on a 6x6 card stock. We each individually got critiqued within the peers in our table, we had to decided which of the three the circles represent, and then pick 3 of the best circles.

Oh yah and my critiques that my group gave me was of course have better measurements, could move some of the circles around on some. They told me that the sizes of the circles stood out and were all different sizes. Someone pointed out that their were some circles that showed smiley face and some other facial expression  and I totally didn't recognize it the whole time. But for the most part they said it was a nice job.

Cardboard spheres

So here we go a second project that had to be made with cardboard. Ok, so when Kathy said "out of cardboard" I was like whoa. Then she said we were making spheres out of them. Yah the first thing that popped out of my head was " how the heck am I going to do that." Just like I figured it was going to be hard, but then at the same time interesting  because who knew you can make anything out of cardboard that originally made for boxes. This project was pretty tough because it had you thinking of how to make it round by using glue and then with just cardboard without any glue. Everyone did a job well done. Yup, there comes the critiques that helps us get better.

!!!FIRST DAY OF CLASS!!!

To start off the very first day in class was pretty fun. It was quite surprising to have to create a daydream or nightmare out of newspaper that we had to wear on our bodies. Instead of going straight into the syllabus, we started working on a interesting and creative ideas out of newspaper. I was stunned when Kathy said that we had to wear this daydream or nightmare on our bodies and then have to model straight down the isle. I thought modeling the daydream and nightmare objects was funny, cool, and FUN. Then the second part of class of course we had to read and listen to the syllabus.
